Hey! I'm Cement. I also go by Tyler. I go by any pronouns (i really just don't give a shit). I am violently autistic. I'm most well known within the Backrooms Wiki community as well as my cursed programming series on YouTube. I have presences in other, equally mentally ill spaces like conlanging and No Man's Sky.

Projects

I'm responsible for a lot of creative projects online. My major focuses are:

  • Level 997 was a 60,000 word Backrooms article that I created in 2021. It centered around the exploration of an extremely large Level and the uncovering of a god. I've deleted the draft from the internet because it was bad. I have it saved in a .txt on my desktop in case I ever decide to return to it.

  • Sigu Khida is an expansive chronology describing the evolution of an alien planet, its biosphere, and its cultures. On pause until I gain more free time.

  • Aquilin is another Backrooms project about the lone survivor of a long-destroyed species. On pause until I gain more free time.

  • Backrooms Iceberg is a community Backrooms project headed by me. We have already accomplished our main goal of creating the iceberg. We will continue with our secondary goal of creating an explainer video. On pause until American Thanksgiving.

  • Intranet Series is an ARGlike series about the exploration of the realm in your dreams via technology. On pause until I gain more free time.

  • Cursed Programming is a YouTube series of mine which is essentially just a cursed image compliation aimed at programmers. On pause until I gain more free time.

  • Deltacraft is a Minecraft server hosted by yours truly. It's fairly inactive at the moment but we often see periods of rapid growth and activity every couple of months. It's hosted on a dedicated machine and is open to the public for the most part. More information can be found on my Discord.

  • Fujita/Hook Echo Series is an ARGlike series that I created because Midwestern horror is a lacking genre. It's about things that live in tornadoes.

Backrooms Wiki

I'm a longtime author and admin for the Backrooms Wikidot. While most of my writing is no longer onsite (for the better), I still regularly interact with the community and I am very active within online spaces.

No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky is my favorite piece of media. I have over 4,000 hours logged ingame and a somewhat significant presence in the community.

Linguistics

Linguistics have long been an interest of mine. I am currently in the process of learning four languages (Dutch, Arabic, Indonesian, Portuguese as well as studying countless more) and speak English natively. I am experienced with complex linguistic concepts and have created multiple conlangs, to varying degrees of success.

Programming

I am a Java programmer. I started out as a kid creating simple mods for games like Minecraft and wound up competitively programming in BPA.

Worldbuilding

The only form of storytelling i've ever been able to master is worldbuilding. I am good at creating extremely expansive and realistic simulations of entire biospheres, including everything from abiogenesis to complex life chemistry to the formation of independent cultures. I am notably terrible at producing any kind of magic system.

Various other Media

Various other media (mostly video games because it's my preferred method of storytelling) i'm interested and/or hyperfixating on includes: Subnautica, FTL, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program, Minecraft, Outer Wilds, Rain World, Space Engineers, and sometimes i fire up ARK if i feel like contributing nothing to society. I'm a fan of online horror series, especially ones that have forgone jumpscares and sheer brutality in favor of extensive worldbuilding and tension. My favorities include Gemini Home Entertainment, the Monument Mythos, and Vita Carnis.
